A 9-year-old Maine girl is home from a Boston hospital healthy and active and with a new stomach, liver, spleen, small intestine, pancreas, and part of an esophagus to replace the ones that were being choked by a huge tumor. It is the most transplants that has been done at one time, as well as the first esophageal transplant. Alannah was only five when the tumor started. After being on the waiting list for over a year, Alannah was only guaranteed a 50 percent chance of surviving the surgery.
