Restaurant Industry sizes

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

The restaurant industry has taken a different, unexpected turn. With many food chains becoming increasingly un-healthy (can anyone pronounce most ingredients now anyway?) a lot of consumers want to be healthy. With a large pop now becoming bigger then our heads, a lot of restaurants are decreasing their portion sizes. One restaurant in Canada, for example, offers a smaller version of their rice and pasta dishes, for the same price. Most people wanted the smaller deal. This also raised the question of just bringing the left over’s home. Studies suggest most people eat until their plates are empty, even when they were full much earlier. Other studies done at University and College cafeterias shown the students took the lesser portion, despite the difference being as little as 25 cents more.
