Volunteer Hamilton is Challenging and Inviting Our Community to Take Action

“Through leadership, education and advocacy, we promote and link organizations, businesses, and individuals to embrace volunteerism.”

 A tremendous mission indeed for a fantastic organization who may not be as recognized as they should be, but whose goals are setting society’s standard for an idealism. Volunteer Hamilton performs a service that is not only wonderful for its community, but completely inspirational through its humanitarian intentions.

However, in today’s world it appears to be more difficult than in the past to get people, especially our youth, to embrace such idealism. A vast majority are so inundated and immersed with the idea of glamour and fame that the pre-occupation to try and bring attention to oneself seems to override any true desire for acts of selflessness.

So therein lays the challenge for any group such as Volunteer Hamilton that is trying to promote and spread a consciousness of giving.  In taking on this challenge, Volunteer Hamilton has put a great deal of time and effort in effectively building its organization and its services, to allow for as much ease and convenience as possible for those that would like to get involved.

Through workshops, training sessions, events, various programs & placements, as well as resource centres & support staff, you can be sure to feel comfortable and confident that Volunteer Hamilton will prepare you for all aspects of being part of their volunteer program. It is tremendously rewarding for both the volunteers and organizations that take part, and the connections made to those that are being served or helped is truly self-fulfilling in ways that will bring smiles to everyone’s faces, including your own.

In understanding that people have different interests, talents, ambitions, ways of learning and developing, Volunteer Hamilton has provided a wide spectrum of opportunities to account for those differences in offering something for everyone. Whether you are looking to give some of your free time, meet incredible people or learn important tasks, organizational and leadership skills, as well as developing a sense of responsibility, being a Volunteer with VH can be one of the greatest experiences you will ever have.

Now more than ever we have to start encouraging people to take action. Therefore Volunteer Hamilton is developing a campaign to ‘Enrich Our Lives Through Volunteerism’.  As part of this initiative Volunteer Hamilton will be holding a grand event on Saturday November 5th, 2011 from Noon to 5 pm at the Volunteer Hamilton Office at 267 King St. E. which will be streamed live at www.volunteerhamilton.on.ca and at www.newscliptv.com

Also as part of the event, Volunteer Hamilton will also be celebrating 10 years of its Bay Area Leadership program. The Bay Area Leadership program develops an individual's collective leadership abilities required for success in every system and workplace.  This program of Volunteer Hamilton is supported by the communities of Burlington and Hamilton, which make up the Bay Area. As another part of VH, this initiative also demonstrates the scope in which there are opportunities provided by VH to improve the overall condition and excellence within the community.

Please do your part and help spread the word for this event and then watch the activities online or come down in person. The event will go from Noon to 5pm and include:
