(HAMILTON, ON.) - Luxury service provider Carmen's has announced the opening of a new building associated with the Best Western hotel chain.

Carmen’s, the most dynamic hospitality provider in southern Ontario, proudly celebrated the grand opening of its first hotel, the new Best Western C HOTEL by Carmen’s. This luxurious boutique property is here to cater to the region’s fast growing business travel and leisure tourist market, as well as Carmen’s event patrons.

The opening launch of the new hotel is strategically important for Carmen’s in its quest to build a presence in the Hamilton region’s hotel marketplace. Located seconds from the Lincoln Alexander Expressway and Red Hill Valley Parkway interchange, the C Hotel by Carmen’s was built by Mulas Construction Ltd.

“Charming, Classic and Chic, the six-story, 52 room and suite C Hotel by Carmen’s is designed to deliver a restful overnight experience and a relaxing work environment. Featuring European boutique inspiration, the hotel is a fusion of comfort and design, simplicity and sophistication. Decadent lighting features and upbeat music from your favorite crooners will welcome you as you enter the hotel’s grand lobby,” said PJ Mercanti, President of Carmen’s. “Carmen’s commitment to European-styled creativity with contemporary flair is also demonstrated by having each room named and themed after famous musicians, actors and icons such as Frank Sinatra, Al Pacino,  Vince Lombardi and Enzo Ferrari, to name a few. Custom artwork featuring these personalities is included in their respective rooms as well as brief historic bios,” Mercanti added.

C Hotel by Carmen’s will be independently owned and operated and will be associated with the Best Western brand. “Best Western was the only hotel flag that offered us 100 per cent flexibility in designing a hotel that achieves our vision,” said Carmen’s Founder and Chairman Peter Mercanti.

The hotel breaks down the walls that separate leisure and business travel so that guests can find the right balance between work and play. For weddings, conferences or meetings, the hotel offers the 2700 square foot Castelli Ballroom. This space will accommodate weddings and events ranging up to 150 guests. The C Hotel will also provide innovative leisure services such as Rocky’s Fitness Gym filled with the latest exercise equipment as well as the indoor Adriatic swimming pool and whirlpool. Some of the other hotels amenities include, 42” HD TV’s with premium channels in every room, free Wi-Fi, free GTA calling, a business centre, 8” concrete soundproof walls and a hot breakfast served directly to guests’ rooms.

Baci Ristorante is the C Hotel’s answer to those craving quality Italian cuisine in an energetic and cutting edge setting, redefining the ‘modern Italian restaurant’. Executive Chef, John Taubenberger, will lend his culinary mastery and has developed a menu featuring pizza, pasta and veal dishes that will be complemented by a selection of premium Niagara & Tuscan wines. Chef John is well known in Hamilton’s Italian fine dining scene through his years as head chef at both LoPresti’s and La Cantina. Baci (which is Italian for “kiss”) will stimulate more than the palate with classic movies from the likes of Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese, to major sporting events playing on multiple LCD screens in the restaurant. Featured restaurant music will provide subtle sound pleasure. “The Five Senses will experience a makeover once guests walk out of Baci,” said Chef John Taubenberger.

As well as Baci, the hotel will soon unveil a rooftop event space on the sixth floor that will accommodate private events and wedding ceremonies.

“The ground-breaking of the C Hotel marks a new day for Carmen’s and the Mercanti Family. This hotel will be a welcomed addition to our business by the many wedding guests and out of town guests that use our facility and visit our great city every week,” said Carmen’s Executive Vice President of Operations, Joe Mercanti.

Joe Mercanti, who will be the President of the C Hotel, added; “I’m very excited for the opportunity to lead this new expansion. Having studied the unique service features of the best boutique hotels across North America and Europe, I am confident that the C Hotel by Carmen’s will deliver the Hamilton marketplace something that it has never seen before. We are already looking forward to building more hotels in Hamilton and in other locations across southern Ontario. Our only limitation is our own imagination.”
