Shooting in Hamilton’s East End
The Hamilton Police Service is investigating a shooting incident that happened in Hamilton’s East End and is asking witnesses to contact police.
On Monday, January 16th, 2012, just before midnight, Hamilton Police responded to investigate reports of shots fired in the area of 1328 – 1332 Monterey Ave. near Kenilworth Ave. S. On arrival, police located a 27 yr. old male victim who had been shot. His injuries were non-life threatening.
The victim indicated he was walking through an apartment building in area and was shot at by an unknown black male. The suspect fled into the parking lot and possibly into a vehicle. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Investigators have little information about the suspect or the possible suspect vehicle involved. The Division Two Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Division Two Detectives at 905-546-2907 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
