Hamilton Police Service Daily for January 18th, 2012
Break and Enter/ Possession Under $5,000.00 – Academy Dr. Ancaster On Wednesday, January 18th, 2012, just after midnight, Hamilton Police were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle, with 4-5 males inside, in the area of Academy Dr. and Rousseaux St. in Ancaster. The suspect vehicle and suspects had fled prior to police arrival.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., the suspect vehicle, a black pick-up truck with five males inside, was stopped nearby and through further investigation a quantity of tools was found in the rear of the truck. It is alleged that the tools had been taken from a construction site that was on Rousseaux St. and backing onto Academy Dr. All five males, all from the Brantford area, were arrested. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.
Impaired Driving - Upper Paradise Rd @ Scenic Drive Hamilton
On Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Scenic Dr. and upper Paradise Rd., after receiving reports of a possible impaired driver in a grey Pontiac. Police located the vehicle and the male driver showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and taken to the station for a breathalyzer test. The driver blew over the legal limit. The 37 yr. old Hamilton man was released on a Promise to Appear with a charge of Impaired and Over 80 mg.
Impaired Driving (RIDE lanes) – Wilson St. E. near Montgomery Dr. Ancaster
On Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Hamilton Police stopped a Toyota Camry in RIDE lanes that had been set up on Wilson St. E. near Montgomery Dr. in Ancaster. A breath test with a roadside screening device was conducted. The male driver failed and was arrested and taken to the station for a breathalyzer test. He blew over the legal limit. The 20 yr. old Hamilton man was released on a Promise to Appear with a charge of Over 80 mg.
