Higher book costs in Canada
The price difference from American to Canadian dollars for books is becoming a big issue for Cananadians. Many deem the steeper price is unfair, and not nessesary. The differences in cost started in the late 90's when the Canadian dollar was much higher. Now, most of the higher prices comes from service and travel fees for the product to be shipped here. American publishers can add a 10 percent increase just because the book is being sold in Canada. The fact that buying these books does nothing to help Canada is not something that makes the Canadian public very happy either.
