Penguin pulls ebooks from libraries
Penguin has moved away from thier relationship with OverDrive, the U.S digital content distributor. Penguin has now decided it will no longer provide ebooks to the company either. Public libraries are now cut off from gaining penguin ebooks and e-audiobooks.
Prenguin is trying to negotiate a deal that will being thier ebooks back into libraries. penguin is not the first company to hold thier material back. Previously, Harper Collins, Simon and Schuster, McMillian and Random House have been holding off thier material to libraries as well. These companies are worried about sale costs and piracy.
